My Aunt Sandra put together a quilting retreat for all of the girls in the Bartholomew family. We met on July 22nd at the Fayette City Hall. It was an all day affair. Unfortunately, there were many that could not make it. We missed them, but we had fun, anyway.

Kaitlin and Heather did squares for their pillows, while the adults did different shapes. This one is Kaitlin's. She picked out the colors by herself.

This is Heather's pillow. Because there were not enough sewing machines for everyone, Heather started out sewing by hand. She learned a lot.

After we made the pillows, a few more people showed up. We had a drawing for some things that were made by Grandma Bartholomew before she passed away. We also had show and tell, where everyone showed something they had made.
Lucky Heather (who always wins in drawings) won this yellow table cloth she has on her head. It matches her finished pillow.
MaryAnn was determined to finish her pillow. While everyone else did show and tell, she continued to sew.
After show and tell, we made bracelets and necklaces with beads donated by my cousin, Suzette. (Thanks, Suz)
It was a lot of fun to take a day off of the regular routine and talk to everyone while being creative.
