Our hotel room was really like a suite. It had two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a kitchen area. The night before, we went to the grocery store and bought some fruit, bagels, muffins, milk, and juice to eat for breakfast.
After eating breakfast, we checked out of our hotel.
Heather thought this strawberry looked like a bum.
It's not very often that you get to go to the 4th of July parade in Jackson, so we decided to stay and check it out. The younger kids waited by the side of the road for the parade to start so they could have good access to the candy.
Dave, Kaitlin, and I found a shady spot nearby.
Only in Jackson, Wyoming do you get corn on the cob at the 4th of July parade. Since we had our coolers, we stuck it in the cooler to take home for dinner.
There were a lot of fun floats and attractions in the parade.
Luke got a fireman's hat.
Someone handed out plastic cups, so the kids used those to put their candy in. After the parade, we walked through a few stores in Jackson to look for Dave and Jared's souvenirs. Jared found a hat, but Dave did not end up finding anything he wanted. Then, we headed for home.
At a rest stop on the way home, Dave found a bat. We had fun watching it for a little while.
There was also a fun bridge at the rest stop.
This is the hat Jared picked out. When we got home, Kaitlin got her hat, and they posed in their hats together.
After unpacking the van, and cleaning it really well, we met Kathleen and kids, Becky and kids, Mike and Becca and kids, and Grandma and Grandpa at the Kaysville fireworks. It sure was a fun vacation!
