The roof

On a Saturday in August, Dave was getting a few jobs done that he had been trying to get to.  One job was to seal around the chimney, because there was a small leak after the roofers reroofed the roof last summer.  After Dave fixed the leak, he took the kids up on the roof.  They were a little nervous, which is a good thing.  I definately don't like getting up there, and I have to admit, even though I know Dave was taking good care of them, I was nervous having the kids on the roof. 

As they were coming off the roof, our home teacher was jogging by.  He stopped to make sure everything was all right, and told us that he used to be a roofer.  Dave took him up on the roof to show him what he had done by the chimney, and our home teacher happened to find another pretty big problem that would have caused a lot of damage if it wasn't fixed.  So, they fixed it.  I don't think our home teacher got to go jogging that afternoon, but we were certainly grateful he stopped by.
