Bartholomew family campout

My Dad and Mom reserved a cabin for the family to camp out in for a weekend.  However, when Gary and my Dad drove to it a couple days before, they realized the recent rain had made the road impassable.  So, we went to 12-mile campground instead.  We had a great time being together.

 We lounged in the camp chairs,

 played games,

 lounged some more,

 and some more,

 went for 4-wheeler rides,

 hung out with cousins,

 ate yummy snacks,

 and pulled funny faces.

 We also went on a family hike.  The goal was to get to Mount Baldy, but as we got close to the top, lightning was popping all around, and we felt like it was too dangerous to stand at the top of the mountain, so we turned around and went back down.

 Luke didn't want to get out of bed one morning.  It was warmer in the sleeping bag.  Notice, he slept with his craft that Grandma helped him make.

 Grandpa brought oreos, but he would only let the kids have one if they could get it from their forehead to their mouth without using their hands.

 On the family hike, some one thought it would be easier to ride the 4-wheelers to the top and hike across the top instead of follow the trail.  Wrong!  Next time you go on a hike, take the trail.  The people who were taken to the top were the small children and Grandma, and it was by far the hardest hike.  We were hiking over logs and rocks, and really had no idea where we were going.  We finally saw the trail below, and hiked back down to the trail.  The other part of our group had already reached Mt. Baldy by following the trail.  It was much quicker.

A campfire is always fun to watch.  I love spending time with family.  After camping we are always ready to go home and clean up, but we have a great time together.  I love my family.
