50th wedding anniversary
Dave's Mom and Dad were married on June 30, 1961, 50 years ago. So, we had a big open house at their house in their honor to celebrate 50 years of marriage.
This was the invitation that was sent out to lots of friends and family. Lots of time was spent pulling weeds in the yard, fixing sprinklers to fix dead spots of grass, mowing lawns, and cleaning house to get ready.
A big banner at the front door is a fun addition to the decorations. 
Dave's Dad has restored some old cars. Those were put out in the front yard for decorations. They drew lots of attention.
We put a "Just Married" sign in the back window of one of the cars for fun.
A little wedding cake.
A guest book for guests to sign and wedding pictures to look at.
The refreshments. Their was also a cup of sprite with pineapple sherbert in it.
Kristen, Kaitlin, and Zoe are helping with the refreshments.
Lots of people came.
Shauna helped with the refreshments, too.

After the guests left, we pulled out Jan's wedding dress. Some of the grand daughters tried it on and realized how skinny grandma was when she got married. It was tight on most of the girls. This is Kelsie trying on the dress.
At the end of the wedding reception, Steve and Jan did a little old fashioned toast and fed each other cake.
They crossed arms to take a drink.
They fed each other cake. 50 years of marriage is a wonderful accompolishment. They are a great example to their children and grand children.
