Jared turned 11 years old last week.
This is the birthday cake he chose.
He can't wait to open presents. We gave him some candy and a lego game, and then we gave him a couple of lamps. He was a little confused at first until we told him they were for an animal cage. He has always wanted a snake, lizard, or turtle. The turtle being the number one choice. He was starting to get suspicous after opening the second lamp, so we loaded everyone into the car to go to dinner and said that was all of the presents. When we were in the car, Dave said, "Wasn't there something else?" So, we got out of the car and took Jared downstairs.
He found another present. It was an aquarium with all of the stuff inside, except for an animal. We told him we really couldn't afford a turtle. They were too expensive (they really are $110 a piece at the pet store). We told him he would have to catch a frog or a snake to go inside the aquarium. Then, we loaded everyone into the car. Dave was the last one to get in, and he turned around to Jared and said, "Is this what you wanted?" and handed Jared the turtle. He was so surprised. It was fun. Dave found the turtle with the aquarium and everything on KSL. It was much cheaper than the pet store.
