J&Js Nursery does a free pumpkin hayride every year. You just donate some food for the food bank. This is the first year we have gone. Luke was sick, so he stayed home with Dave and Michelle. It was a beautiful, warm day. The kids had fun, but they were disappointed that the pumpkins weren't as big as Days Farm that we usually go to. But, they were free.

The day before Halloween, we went with some other families from our neighborhood to Black Island Farms in Syracuse. We also went on a hayride there. The kids were so excited because they wanted to get some bigger pumpkins. They like the really big ones. It was funny, because I think Kaitlin is holding the biggest pumpkin we found there. At Black Island Farms, they pick the big pumpkins to sale and save the little ones for the hayride. Oh, well. It was still fun. Next year we will grow our own big pumpkins in our garden.

On the hayride, the tour guide picked all of the kids a carrot and an onion. Luke got home and devoured those carrots. He thought they were so yummy.
