Spring Break Trip - Day 1
For Spring Break, we usually just stay home. But, this year, we decided to venture out and see some of the world. We had been wanting to go down to Moab for awhile, so when we finally booked a couple of hotels, we made it official. We chose to go down the first part of the week because we thought the last part would be busier because it was closer to the weekend. We definately made the right decision. Not because of how busy things were, but because of the weather. We stayed in Fayette at my parent's house for the first night to make the drive shorter the next day. When we woke up in the morning, there was snow on the ground. But as we drove east, the snow became less and less.
Our first stop was Goblin Valley. These rocks are near the road as you drive in. They definately look like Goblins and probably gave the park it's name.
Goblin Valley isn't a big State Park, but it was still fun. It's basically a big playground for the kids. You are allowed to climb on all of the rocks. Our kids loved that. Especially Heather and Jared. Heather scared me quite a few times during the trip. She is a little too brave when it comes to climbing things. 
As you can see from the girl's hair, it was very windy. The snow was gone, but it was still a bit chilly and very windy. There was sand blowing everywhere. We had some sandwiches to eat for lunch. Goblin Valley had some nice picnic tables, but the wind was so bad, we just ate in the car. We didn't want real "sand"wiches.
The original name for Goblin Valley was Mushroom Valley. You can definately tell why they called it that.
This rock looked like you could push it over, but of course, when the kids tried, it didn't even budge.
Dave is standing in front of this rock because it looks like a duck. And Dave likes ducks.
This is the rock that Jared thought looked like a turtle. He loves turtles.
All worn out.
After Goblin Valley, we went to Greenriver where we spent our first night. We got the family suite. It had a couch that pulled into a bed and two queen beds. It even had two TVs, which our kids loved. After getting some dinner at Arbys, we went back to the hotel and swam in the swimming pool. Our kids love to do that.
Michelle was very happy to sleep on the floor. She thought that was great.
