Happy Valentine's Day!

Some people don't like Valentine's Day, but we do at our house.  

 As Jared was walking out of the school on Valentine's Day, some girls gave Jared these mints.  They didn't know him, and I think they thought since he was a little 7th grader, he would be embarrassed that some older girls gave him mints on Valentine's Day.  But, not Jared.  He thought it was great.  He never gets embarrassed.  Maybe someday he will when he really cares what girls think.

 When the kids got home from school, I sent them on a treasure hunt.  They looked by the piano,

 on the front porch,

 in the fridge,

 in the closet, until they finally found their treasure.

 They found one treasure, and then had to go on a second treasure hunt to find their next treasure.

 They got a bag of rolos and mints and a heart box of M&Ms.  Kaitlin handed them out.

 Kaitlin wrote everyone in the family a cute note.  They are hard to read in the pictures, but they are really cute.

 I only got a picture of a few of them.

 Then, someone knocked on the door.  The kids went to the door, and this is what they found.

 It turns out, it was for Luke.  This is what he got.

 All of the kids ended up getting something at the door.

 Dave, after he got done doorbell ditching, brought me chocolates, flowers, a card, and a balloon.

These notes were from Dave.  Both Dave and his Dad call themselves Mr. XOXO.  (Dave got this from his Dad).  They leave treats on the doorstep for each kid, and ring the door bell and run.  The kids love it.  They get to do it twice with Dad and Grandpa Mitchell.

Of course, we can't forget Dave.  I gave him some Mountain Dew, a card, and some candy.  We have fun with Valentine's Day and we are so grateful that we have a family that we love.
