We woke up that morning in Ashton, Idaho and ate breakfast at the hotel. Then, it was off to Yellowstone. When we entered the park, the kids were all given a wildlife identification game by the Park Rangers. It was a paper with pictures of different animals that you would most likely see in Yellowstone. The kids were supposed to mark each animal when they saw them. This turned out to be a lot of fun. We saw almost everything on the paper.
We were welcomed to Yellowstone with so much beautiful scenery.
The most common animal we saw were bison (otherwise known as buffalo).
Our first stop was to Old Faithful.

Kaitlin found a friend from school here. We also saw the Bradford family, which are friends from Syracuse.
After Old Faithful, we went to our campground and set up camp. We camped at the Bridge Bay campground.
We were amazed that the bison just come through the campground. They are not afraid of people, but we kept our distance.
We saw these ravens a lot. Jared was working on his bird study merit badge while we were there, so Dave and Jared were naming as many birds as they could. Michelle caught on to some of the names, too. The ravens were her favorite. She would point them out all of the time.
After setting up camp, we went to visit the Lower and Upper Falls.
We climbed a lot of stairs and hiked on a lot of trails. We really did enjoy it. All of the kids did great.
Michelle and Luke got pretty close to an elk. We saw a lot of elk, too.
This is a coyote that walked right by us. It wasn't scared at all.
